Carla Maxine Germann has been designing and making jewellery since the age of 14. At the age of 16 she had a fully functional jewellery design business that was exporting to the UK and USA.

She studied for a year at the Ruth Prowse School of Art and then went to Stellenbosch to complete a 4 year Bachelors Degree in Visual Arts (Creative Jewellery Design and Metal Techniques).

She then applied for an internship at the Galerie Louise Smit in Amsterdam, and simultaneously embarked on an exchange program with the University of Amsterdam where she studied a type of Art History as part of her Masters degree at the University of Stellenbosch.

She returned to South Africa in 2012 to complete her degree and graduated in March 2014.

She worked for herself in Cape Town from 2014 to 2016.

Carla is now living in Sydney, Australia, and continues to design and create her quirky beautiful pieces of contemporary jewellery from a studio in Surry Hills, Fitzroy Place.

Carla Maxine Engagement Ring and Yellow Diamond Wedding Band

Carla made her own Engagement Ring and Wedding Band.

For tips on measuring your ring size, go have a look at this article. If you require anything to be a different size/colour/length, please mail me at carla@carlamaxine.com. Please allow up to 10 working days for all orders.

Please note that at CarlaMaxine Jewellery we use various metal surface treatments such as the oxidation of Sterling Silver. This technique ensure a different colour of silver, but it is a temporary effect. With wear and tear it will start to look more silver again. If you are cautious of buying a product that might not look the same after a while, please rather opt for a purely silver or gold item. However if and when your oxidising wears off after a while, we offer a free freshening up service.

Returns policy: Anything that is returned within two weeks of purchase would be able to be exchanged for another item or a gift voucher.
