Australian Parti Sapphire Halo Engagement Ring
This commission was very special to me, as it was a couple of our very close friends who got engaged. My friend has been one of my biggest supporters from the beginning, and she had been sending me pictures of my work for years, saying: ‘ooh I like this one’ and ‘this one! This one!’. This was great, as when her partner approached me to design the engagement ring, I had loads of research on what she would want- ready to go.
Her partner and I sat down with Nina Cueva, and we had a look of some of her gorgeous Australian Sapphires. It was very difficult to nail it down to only one, but when my client saw this one, he knew this was it. A spectacular 4.5ct Teal Blue Green Australian Parti Sapphire from Rubyvale, Central Queensland that was cut in an elongated cushion cut.
My client chose White Diamonds to go around the centre Sapphire in its scattered asymmetrical cluster halo, as we didn’t want anything to compete with the incredible colour of the centre stone. We also chose 18ct White Gold to make the ring in, to keep the whole look quiet and clean. The result is a stunning showstopper of a ring, and we are all very happy with how it turned out
